We are looking for an  English-speaking Administrative Assistant.

The mission of this role is to collaborate with our Credit Experts/Underwriters and Management team to ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of our company's financial data. Responsibilities:

  1. Reviewing Mortgage Applications:  Review carefully mortgage applications submitted by borrowers, and analyze various documents, including income statements, tax returns, credit reports, employment history, and property appraisals to assess the borrower's financial situation and the property's value.
  2. Evaluating Property Value: The credit expert assesses the value of the property to ensure it meets the lender's criteria for loan approval. They review property appraisals to verify that the property's value aligns with the loan amount.
  3. Calculating Loan-to-Value Ratio: Calculate the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio, which compares the loan amount to the appraised value of the property. This ratio helps determine the risk associated with the loan and influences the terms of the mortgage.
  4. Ensuring Compliance: Ensure that mortgage applications comply with all relevant regulations and lending guidelines.
  5. Communicating with Loan Officers and Borrowers: Collaborate with existing Brokers to develop and nurture a pipeline of mortgage deal flows. Communicating with loan officers and borrowers to gather additional information, request clarification on documentation, or address any concerns related to the mortgage application. 
  6. Decision Making: Determine the terms of the loan, such as the interest rate, loan amount, and down payment requirements. Prepare commitments to sign and record in OneDrive on time.
  7. Risk Management and Checklist Completion: Ensure all checklists are meticulously completed. Manage the information flow related to risk assessment and mitigation processes.
  8. Payment Processing and Reporting: Record incoming payments and transaction reports promptly. Take necessary actions, such as sending out NSF notifications for missed payments or escalating cases for foreclosure as required.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent English. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Any work experience in Finance, Banking, or Business Administration will be an advantage.
Skills:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be advanced in navigating Microsoft 365 including OneDrive and Microsoft Office (primarily Excel, Word & Outlook), Adobe Acrobat DC, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to and utilize our company software program: Mortgage Automator.

Please note that working hours will be in Canada’s time zone. Working hours: 9:00 AM to 5 PM (Eastern time), from Monday to Friday. An access to fast speed internet and a fast-working computer is required.
